En tu vida. ¿Cuántas cosas te resistes a hacer por miedo? ¿Qué experiencias te privas de experimentar?. No hablo del miedo a las cosas realmente riesgosas para nuestra vida, sino del miedo a no ser capaz, el miedo a lo que pensarán los demás (amigos, compañeros de trabajo, padres, pareja, sociedad, etc.) o el miedo a lo que pueda ocurrir en el futuro si nos salimos del plan establecido. Me refiero a miedos limitantes, ante los cuales escogemos hacernos pequeños en vez de coger las riendas de nuestra vida e ir a por lo que realmente queremos.
La muerte nos demuestra a todos, antes o después, que gran parte de nuestros miedos no justifican el haber dejado de lado los grandes sueños y pasiones.
¿Te has fijado en las personas que saben que van a morir?. Cuando realmente asumen que van a dejar de existir, verás que sueltan miedos y una gran serenidad y capacidad de disfrutar la vida inunda sus corazones. Pero ¿Es necesario algo así para despertar del letargo?. No, no lo es.
Solo es necesario que tomes consciencia de ellos y los mires a los ojos.
Todos hemos sido criados en la cultura del miedo. Bombardeados con advertencias por parte de padres, colegios, medios de comunicación, médicos, políticos… Y verdaderamente ¿Cuántos de todos esos posibles peligros que nos auguran acaban sucediendo?. Y es que mayoría de los miedos que sentimos son infundados, basados en las experiencias, asunciones o creencias de otros.
No quiere decir que el miedo sea un estorbo o algo de lo que nos, debemos librar cuanto antes. Por favor, no temamos también al miedo. Pero esos temores pueden ser los barrotes de tu jaula o tus grandes maestros.
Por eso a veces la vida nos apreta las cuerdas y la odiamos por ponernos en una encrucijada pero en realidad, todavía no estamos pudiendo ver que se abre la puerta hacia la libertad y el crecimiento.
¿Cómo sería si la próxima vez que sientas miedo lo observaras, lo es escucharas y acogieras la propuesta que lleva de la mano?. El miedo te muestra dónde pones tu límite y te invita a escoger el camino de la confianza o a morirte en él. Si te entrenas en esta nueva actitud te darás cuenta que los golpes y contratiempos de la vida te afectarán menos.
Es una cuestión de elegir, porque al fin y al cabo todos tenemos miedos. Pero anularte bajo su densa capa quizás te permite seguir siendo productivo y ofrecer la apariencia de que «todo está bien», sin embargo te mata por dentro. Y puestos a morir ¿Qué otra cosa puede ser tan temible como para que no te lances a por tu sueño?
